Ice Cream Fix at Mad Mark's Creamery & Good Eats, Glorietta 5 Makati Philippines

Glorietta 5 has now become one of our new food stops. Housing restaurants such as Yabu, Buffalo Wings 'N Things and Giligan's; a stroll here always ends with us going home with happy tummies ;) It came as no surprise that tonight another one of Glorietta 5's food haunts made our list.

Say hello to Mad Mark's Creamery.

Staff had a bit of an attitude, which was a bad start to any food trip. Normally we would've just walked out at this point but we were in a good mood and let it slide nalang. Bumawi naman when they gamely posed for the camera.

Moving on...

You walk up the counter and order from their clipboard menu.
We were eyeing Mad Mark's Grill Works which had 3 easy steps.

STEP ONE (Choose your meat & doneness): Got their Regular Steak which was 200g USDA Steak with 2 sides. For the Steak Doneness, we opted to have it Medium Well.  Also got their Creole Grilled Chicken which was basically grilled chicken with 2 sides.

STEP TWO (Pick a Sauce): Went with the staff's recommendation and got Bootstrap Steak Sauce for our steak and Roasted Nut Sauce for the chicken.

STEP THREE (Choose your side dishes): It was Smashed Potatoes all the way! ;)

We knew to save room for dessert. Heard about their Homemade Ice Cream & we wanted to be sure to try them out.

** Food-Stars Tip: Ask for a free taste of their ice cream so you can pick your favorite. **

They give you this wooden plank with a number printed on as you wait for them to serve your order. We got lucky number 4 for the night.

Steak Night Special at Cafe Ilang Ilang, Manila Hotel Philippines

It was buffet night at Cafe Ilang Ilang, Manila Hotel.

Loved the gold plated signage by the door!
Function Room for private events!
We specifically went there on a Friday for their Steak Night Special (Php 2,950++ net/ person).

Like in other hotels, Cafe Ilang Ilang divided cuisines in sections or stations. It was a bit confusing though since some sections were placed behind walls or cramped in a corner.

Here's some snapshots of the place.....

Ramen Cravings at Ajisen Ramen, Robinsons Place Ermita, Metro Manila

It's another Ramen Sunday. This time, we drove all the way to Robinson's Place Manila for a hot steaming bowl from Ajisen.

The place was packed and for a party of 7, it took awhile for us to be seated.

Here's what we had for dinner...

Crunchy Roll (Php 210)
This was your typical California Maki with mangoes, cucumber, crabstick sushi roll. They just added crunchy flakes on top. FS verdict? Not bad.

Jurrassic Roll (Php 395)
This sushi with Unagi was a party in my mouth. So much flavors were going on from the Ebi tempura, crabstick, salmon skin and the grilled eel; all rolled for easier eating :9

Here's a continuation post of our Sinapore travelogue! ;)

'Coz no Singapore trip is complete without visiting Universal Studios!
Our second visit but our first time to experience their version of "Parade of the Stars!" ;)

Please excuse the rope. It was so hard to get a nice angle from our spot.

Coffee Run at Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters, Century City Mall, Makati

I'm all for trying new places out, it's Hubby that needs more convincing.

I dragged him to a coffee run at the Century City Mall. The newly opened mall was brightly lit but still had lots of unopened places. Went up the 3rd floor to Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters.

Small & with a limited number of chairs, the place was soon filled up. The white-washed walls were a nice touch. It gives off a subway/ tunnel kind of vibe.

#FoodStarsNewsAlert: Manila's scheme abuses law by China Daily

Fresh from our China trip (more for business than leisure), I came across an article in one of China's newspapers.

This was taken from the Editorial/ Comment section of the said newspaper.
