It was already 11pm and we were getting hungry. We were stuck in traffic at Jupiter Street Makati. With our stomachs rumbling, this restaurant caught our eye.

Amidst the cars honking, the name brought a smile to our faces. We decided to try out this new place while waiting for the traffic to subside.

As you enter, you'll be faced with an almost-psychedelic-like interior. With the orange walls, checkered floors & large pictures of their best-selling dishes, all you can say is "ang bright naman dito", which I think is the goal of the restaurant. To give off a sense of cheerfulness to its patrons.

We were craving for ramen noodles so we decided to have a RR (Ramen Run) to Atsu Atsu Ramen.  (Also our voucher was about to get expired... hehehe :D ).

Situated between construction companies & warehouses, this quaint hole-in-a-wall restaurant is not that noticeable so you do need to keep your eyes peeled. With its abundant parking spaces, you will have no trouble finding a space to park. Go up the steps & it's the only establishment on that floor.  

A Crab-tastic Food Trip at No Signboard Geylang

Late post! Been neglecting to put this up. Guess it's better late than never! Here goes...


On our first night in Singapore, we had our dinner at one of the hot spot tourist foodie place called No Singboard in Geylang. Seriously, the restaurant's name is No Signboard because it literally has no signboard.

Don't let the place fool you, we had to reserve days before just to avoid the dinner rush (yes, we had to call long distance).  Once we got inside, people started coming in & before you know it, it was a full house. You can choose to eat indoors (with aircon) or outdoors (open air).  Inside, you'll see the newspaper articles about the restaurant and their best-seller, chili crabs.

ARRGGHH! Food Attack at Giligan's, Glorietta 5

After an interview at Makati, we decided to have a late lunch at Glorietta 5. We were deciding between trying out the eat-all-you-can pizza & pasta buffet at Chef D'Angelo or Gilligan's. Rice with sisig won! So we found ourselves at G5 Giligan's.

Their interior decors are mostly nautical-based. One part of the restaurant even had a showcase of random knick-knacks.

 

We've been eating here since forever, even ordering take-out so we pretty much knew what food to get already. The menu is pretty much the same as the other grill joints around the Metro (Dencio's, Jay-J's, Gerry's, Congo Grill, etc), but we keep coming back to Giligan's because they are the most consistent with their cooking & servings. And we ♥♥♥  their sisig!

So without much further ado, first up is their Pork Sisig.

Sizzling Pork Sisig 

Nestled on a sizzling plate, the aroma alone is enough to make your mouth water.  What makes this different from the other grill places is that instead of the usual soggy texture, their sisig is crunchy with every bite. Even after you've mixed in the hot sauce, soy sauce & calamansi, Giligan's Sisig still retains its crispiness. A solid 2 thumbs up for this one!
