Last Sunday (March 6, 2016) marked our first ever fun run since we kick started the journey to a healthier us. We wanted to sweat our pounds away while still having fun. I found the perfect combination with Watsons SunWarrior Challenge.
Aside from the running part, they promised a colorful ending for all participants. Well that sounded intriguing enough to try. They offer 2 ways to register, either thru online or thru their registration booths located at SM Mall of Asia. I was able to try both ways & the only difference is you get a Prepaid card when you register at the booths.
Which I actually liked because it acts as an additional souvenir at no extra cost. Registration fee is Php 950 for 3k, 5k & 10k.
You know it's no ordinary fun run when your race kit includes the following...
A singlet that comes in 3 different colors (pink, yellow & turquoise) and comes in sizes ranging from Extra Small to 2XL. The size chart posted online runs on the smaller side so it's recommended that you get one size bigger if you want it to be loose.
A head wrap that you can use in multiple ways as illustrated on the packaging.
For race day, I used it as a hair tie.
Shades that comes in psychedelic colors like the singlet.
And of course the race bib with your corresponding race number.
Oh and color packets like these below...

Excited for Race Day, we couldn't sleep. Call time was 4:00 in the morning, we were there around 5:45am. Yup, the sun wasn't even out but we were! ;) After the waves of 10k runners, it was our turn.
To pump up the crowd, there was nonstop music blaring from the speakers as well as a few stretching exercises for warming up. By 6:30am, we were off!
By the first kilometer, they've set up the first obstacle which I'm calling The Wall of Garters that you'll need to go through. Here's where the color fun begin. Staff of Color Manila throws flour-based colored powder as you pass the Wall & at all obstacle courses thereafter.
No one goes home with a clean shirt! ;)
We finished our 5k run with smiles on our faces...
... and with a shiny new hardware to remember it all! ;)
Suffice to say albeit there was a bit of difficulty while registering at the booths, all in all it was a FUN run. Coming home looking like a rainbow was a nice bonus!
