FoodStars always aim to give a fair & true account of our dining experiences. It is therefore our duty to inform our readers & the public about our unfortunate experience at Roboto San, The Fort Bonifacio Global City, our new NEVER EVER GO-TO PLACE.
The place was packed that fateful Sunday night. Servers in space suits and television screens showing fan favorite robot shows, namely Astroboy, Voltes Five and Mazinger Z. With the white on white walls & interiors, they were trying to give off the Japanese vibe, with little success. I'm still a bit confused how ROBOTS = OUTER SPACE. 0_o
Moving on... Roboto San's wares were displayed along the center of the restaurant. They encourage own cooking here, with tables equipped with its own grill. After getting some of their choice meats & seafood, it was time to unleash the mini-chef in us. The night started off without a hitch.
We spoke too soon.
Everyone at our table started feeling funny after 2 hours. We were all throwing up. The kicker? This was just the start of that hellish night.
By 12mn, we were all having chills and frequent bathroom trips. We were soon nursing high fevers. We had to take meds for pain relief & stomachache. We also began fueling up on liquids (water, Gatorade & re-hydration tablets) since we were getting dehydrated from the frequent vomiting. And we were the luckier ones. Other people on our table had to be taken to the hospital the next day.
Days after, everyone was still feeling the after effects of the food poisoning (feeling weak, body aches, etc).
FS Verdict? Roboto San, you totally suck.
Food should always be fresh & well-prepared. No exceptions. Grills and other cooking utensils should be properly cleaned after every use. The eating area & kitchen should always be clean & well maintained. These are Restaurant Management 101.
Your way of dealing with this issue left a lot to be desired. Report has been filed for days & no action was done. No follow up nor any apology or explanation for what happened.
This is the way Roboto San deals with customers. How utterly disappointing.
This is a warning to all those who wants to try this place out. Go & eat at your own risk. As for us, we are NEVER EVER going back here. You are now on our FoodStars BANNED LIST.
I'm thinking they're sorely in need of a food inspection.
P.S. This is the same group that brought us John & Yoko, another THUMBS DOWN food spot.

Too bad I saw your blog too late. We dined in RobotoSan and were made to wait an hour despite having reservations. They did not honor our reservations, and worse, the manager or whoever took our reservations didn't want to come out. Too scared I guess. I thought of complaining to the management, but after reading your comments, it might be a waste of my time. If they didn't take action on food poisoning, I'm sure they will ignore making us wait an hour despite reservations. Thanks and more power.
