It's been awhile since we had a chance to try a new restaurant that left us with happy tummies & smiling faces.
The doors open and you see friendly faces all around. They greet you warmly & make you feel quite at ease.
Decor envy :) |
Scattered all around the place are their food awards. Hmm... definitely a good sign.
The blue chairs worked well with the glass top tables. They give off a calm & serene vibe, perfect for a relaxing evening out.
Korean Appetizers |
They served us the usual Korean appetizers. Quite enough for a table of two.
Rice |
It's always a good sign when the rice is completely white and hot... exactly what Korea Garden serves.
Kalbi Chim (Korean Beef Stew) |
Hands down an easy favorite. The beef just melts in your mouth with every bite. FS Recommendation? Forget your diet & eat this with rice! The only thing that would make this perfect is if they made it spicy. Other than that, it's good to go. :)
Chap Chae (Glass noodles made from sweet potatoes) |
On the other hand, the noodles were just okay. Doesn't offer anything special, a bit forgettable actually. Wasn't able to finish this one.
Nakchi Bokum (Stir fried spicy octopus dish) |
It's literally octopus swimming in spicy sauce. I think this is a type of dish wherein it's either you like it or you don't. A thumbs up for hubby (his favorite) while a pass for me. Loved that the squid was soft and easy to chew.
Mandu (Korean style Dumpling) |
Next up are the dumplings. First impression? Looks good. Taste-wise? These were well-made and quite filling.
Mandu (Marinated beef served on a hot plate) |
Served in a dome-shaped hot plate, this was a sight to behold. With the conspicuous spaces left, serving size was definitely smaller than normal. FS verdict? Lacked sauce and tasted a bit dry. Tasty though.
And to end the meal, we were served sweet pineapples for dessert.
Are we coming back? Although the night had a couple of misses, it definitely had it's good moments. So our answer is, yup count on it. :)
