Dinner & Dice at Little Asia, Promenade

To celebrate the Mooncake Festival, we decided to eat out & have our dice game at Little Asia, Promenade.

We made reservations for 8pm expecting the dinner rush. Unfortunately, business seemed kinda slow even during a weekend. There were only a handful of customers eating.

As you enter, you'll see a bar-like structure where they have their wines on display.  The walls were filled with awards & pictures of celebrities who have tried their wares.

We requested seating at their Mezzanine for a more private setting and they gladly obliged.

Mezzanine View
Even with its low ceiling, the mirrors on the side made it seem more spacious. The gold & red motiff plus the moss-green comfy couch and brown chairs worked well together.

While waiting for the other people to arrive, we ordered some appetizers.
2 orders Pumpkin Soup

We love their Pumpkin Soup and have been ordering it since forever. It's good to know that even after all these time, they still manage to make the taste consistently good. It was creamy and the decor was too cute. You can split the order and still feel full afterwards. Totally worth it!

Croutons
And of course, our Pumpkin Soup won't be complete without the croutons. Toasted bread with butter and parsley cut into little squares. YUM! :)

We also had our favorite appetizer, Shrimp Curls with Mango Dip. The coating of the shrimp was crunchy and the shrimps were cooked just right. The mango dip was divine. It adds flavor to what would be a so-so dish. Verdict? Still on our fav list!

By 9:30pm, people started arriving and we proceeded to order the main courses.

Pineapple Fried Rice
The rice on its own tasted alright. With the shrimps, leeks, eggs, ham and pineapple, this was already a meal by itself. But I think plain rice would've worked better with the other dishes.

Boneless Tilapia with Honey Mayo Sauce
The Boneless Tilapia was fried then cut into two. Sounds like a super simple dish but you better try it with the Honey Mayo dip. This gives it the added oomph it needs. Complaint? Serving was kinda small, only for 1-2 people. The zigzag mayo design made it eye-ttractive (haha).

L.A. Crispy Chicken
This smelled and looked delicious. Presentation-wise, it really made my mouth water. The chicken was soft and juicy and the skin.... crispy-licious.

Yummy Stew
Nowadays with the restaurants going with the fusion trend, it's hard to find traditional Korean Beef Stew, but you can still find it here at Little Asia. The sauce alone makes this dish worthwhile. The beef was tender, juicy and flavorful. Serving size is good for 2-3 people.  Recommendation: Eat this with plain rice to fully appreciate its flavor.

Vietnamese Crispy Spareribs with Garlic
This was a dish that I didn't try... by choice. Kinda scared to since it didn't looked that appetizing. But will give it a chance next time... maybe.

Beef Tenderloin Rolls with Cheese
For an added appetizer, we had the Beef Tenderloin Rolls with Cheese. The taste was quite forgettable, nothing special. Couldn't taste the cheese. As I remember, it tasted better a few years back.

We also had the Lamb Tenderloin Butteryaki. This was definitely the best dish in this batch. I wasn't able to take a picture because it literally flew off the plate. The lamb was succulent and flavorful. Price-wise, kinda expensive for its serving.

Bottomless Drink
For drinks, we had their Cyclone Bottomless Iced Tea. Nothing really special about it.

Our Server
Thanks for a terrific service John. Thumbs up! :)
