While walking around Greenbelt at 8:30 in the evening, hunger struck. We couldn't decide on where to eat when we remembered that we haven't been back to Bubba Gump for the longest time. Shrimps & Southern Fried Chicken memories soon led us to Forrest's food haunt.
Nothing changed! From the movie memorabilia to the "flip-it" Stop and Run Sign, everything was just like the first time we walked in.
Best Ever Popcorn Shrimp (Php 295) |
The name is not quite apt; good but certainly not the best. This was a mix of crunchy shrimps with bell peppers & pepperoncinis. Our favorite dip amongst the three was the jalapeƱo. Squeezing the lime made all the difference.
This came with an order of Golden Corn but we had it changed to French fries. Couldn't wait to dig into the chicken crunch; sadly was greatly disappointed. :( The coleslaw & mashed potatoes were okay. I was hoping that the gravy would save the dish... it didn't. Sigh.
The Mahi-Mahi dish we had before was no longer on the menu so we settled on this. The dory fillet was tender & cooked just right. Ask for more of their Bourbon Butter Sauce. You need to eat this with everything on in one bite; every spoonful should have a piece of fish, shoestring potatoes, tomatoes, mashed potatoes & shrimps.
By 10:00pm, we knew why we haven't been back here for ages.... the food was no longer good. The service though was totally awesome! Kudos to that at least.
