When the restaurant that has a “no takeout” policy decides to change the rules a bit this lockdown season; we get these cups of goodies not just to take home but ones we actually make-at-home.
Say hello to Mendokoro Ramenba’s Take Home Ramen Kit.
Since Father’s Day was just around the corner, it was decided that celebrating it slurping hot bowls of ramen sounded perfect,
Our 4 orders of ramen (2 Tantanmen, 1 Super Chashu & 1 Shoyu) plus extra Chashu came in 2 brown paper bags. Each ramen was encased in its own cup labeled for convenience.
With nervous excitement and apron at the ready, I opened the first cup.
Nice to see that all the components are vacuum sealed to ensure freshness. The Shoyu Ramen Kit comes with broth, noodles, chasu & oil.
Instructions were pretty much straightforward; too simple that I couldn’t believe that it only had 3 steps.
Open the soup packet.
Add 1 cup of water.
Bring to a rolling boil.
Add noodles to the broth.
Transfer contents to a bowl. Drizzle in the oil then finish with the topoings.
And voila! Mendokoro Ramenba’s Shoyu Ramen in all its glory. I took a minute to pat myself on the back and proceeded with the 3 other bowls of ramen with renewed confidence.
The Tantanmen Ramen Kit had 4 components too (broth, noodles, oil & toppings).
And it pretty much came out looking exactly as the ones we had in the restaurant ❤️
My bowl of Super Chashu came out beautiful as well.
Lastly, I opened the packet of Extra Chashu which didn’t come with instructions!!
At the last minute, the Hubby & I decided to heat it up in the pan for a few seconds.
Father’s Day 2020 with Mendokoro Ramenba’s Tantanmen Ramen, Super Chashu Ramen, Shoyu Ramen & extra Chashu kits was pretty much a success. No compromise on taste nor quality; its just good as we remembered it. Good job Mendokoro 👍
Food-Stars Verdict:
The ramen kits were such fun to make; almost like instant noodles but what you get in the end is a gourmet bowl of yummy ramen. Easy to do and no special euipments nor skills needed.
Ordering from them was easy & hassle-free. After completing our online form, a rep soon called to confirm our order. A day before the actual pick up date, they also call to remind you about it. And it doesn’t stop there, they even text you on the day itself.
Food-Stars Recommendation:
We found the amount of broth yielded per kit was lesser than the soup we had in the restaurant. I think adding 1/4 cup of water would be best.
