Sis has been raving about this place since Christmas. When Mom suggested that we celebrate Mother's Day here, we were excited. Conveniently located in the newly built Robinsons Magnolia, parking was not going to be a problem.
Uncle Cheffy, Robinsons Magnolia |
Airy, bright and light were the first 3 words that come into mind. With the wicker-type seats and wooden tables, Uncle Cheffy gives off a laid back vibe perfect for group dining and relaxing.
Salad was fast becoming Mom's comfort food. It seemed that no dine out is complete without one. What makes Uncle Cheffy's version special was atop your leafy greens rested this yummy, succulent pork belly. Yup, they serve pork with their salad! That alone deserves a star in my book. :P
Since the "meat high" we got from the salad wasn't enough (hehe), we ordered 350gs of this. Served with their homemade sauce & salsa, we couldn't wait to dig in. FS Verdict? The skin was crunchy & the meat was juicy but alas, the flavor wasn't really there. FS Recommendation? Load up on the sauce.
Cheffy Salad Medium (Php 230) |
Garlic Studded Pork Belly Lechon (Php 95/ 100g) |
Instead of a sweet red sauce, Uncle Cheffy decides to take your taste buds for a spin and serves up this pasta Spanish-style. A bit "maasim" with chorizos; this was yum. :9
And now for the piece-de-resistance, the panizza!
"What is a Panizza?", you may ask. Well, let me show you.
Get a slice of the brick-oven pizza. Add your choice of topping; either salsa, arugula or alfalfa sprouts (which was unfortunately out of stock at that time). With Uncle Cheffy's Brick Oven Pizza, you won't have to worry about the crust crumbling or breaking, they bake it perfectly. Just roll it up and voila, there's your Panizza! Fun way of eating right? ;)
Uncle Cheffy Favorite (Php 395/ Family) |
Half-sies: Cheese, Cheese & Cheese (Php 237.50) and Larry's Craving (Php 247.50) |
Larry's Craving on the other hand had salmon, mushroom and cheese. FS Verdict? Honestly, I couldn't taste the difference between this and the Uncle Cheffy Favorite. :(
With mommy and tummies happy, Uncle Cheffy was definitely a great choice. :)
