Escape Rooms have been a part of our gimik routine. For this time around, we found ourselves getting locked up in one of the rooms at Breakout Philippines.
Located at the ground floor of the Paragon Plaza, Breakout Philippines shares its space with a canteen which doubles as their waiting area for players.
Before starting, you will be asked to sign a waiver that relieves them of any liability whatsoever.
Then you will be escorted into this small room (Check-In Counter) where they will explain to you the do's & dont's once you're locked up. Here's where you'll meet your Game Master who will then lead you to your chosen room for the night.
For our first time, we decided to try out Prison Room.
Maximum Team Size: 5 Players
Difficulty Level: 4 / 5
Goal: You will need to get out before the prison riot (which lasts for exactly 45 minutes) ends.
We were really hyped and battle-ready due to the fact that we already got Mystery Solved notches on our belt. This was going to be so easy...
Or so I thought.
The Prison Room gave our brain muscles a bit of a workout and with a shorter time limit, we had to work fast.
Food-Stars Tip: Don't overthink things. Everything you need is inside the room so don't panic.
Food-Stars Verdict? Breakout's Prison Room was really well-thought off. From the background riot sounds to the appearance of the room itself, you can't help but be immersed & feel like a prisoner for real. Highly recommended room for first time Breakers although be wary of one of the locks, it's easy to break even without the combination which will disrupt the sequence & will make you stuck. This happened to us & it totally sucked!!
Food-Stars Recommendation: Invest on sturdier locks.
Other BreakOut Rooms we were able to try:
The Heist
Room 13
Limbo
Outbreak Manila/ Adarna's Lair
