After our colorful morning of running, we were in need of our post-workout meal. At 8 in the morning, food choices were certainly limited. Wildflour immediately popped into mind. Opens early and falls into my list of to-try places; it's like hitting 2 birds with 1 stone.
Airy & cool, it was just what we needed after our morning run. It seemed that we were still early for the morning crowd, we easily got a table.
Their menu is simple; a one-paged long bond paper devoid of pictures, drawings and color. It seems that we were in for some no-fuss eating which I gladly welcomed. I was in the mood for something light while the 2 boys were in for something heavier.
I'm all for everyone eating at the same time so it's a plus for me when Wildflour served our dishes all at once. Another thing that made me like them more? All our dishes looked pretty. ;) Everything looked well put together and mouthwatering. I couldn't wait to dig in.
This is sliced almost shredded braised beef brisket mixed with kimchi rice topped with egg. I wasn't able to try this but from the looks of it, Wildflour delivered what it promised. The serving size though, in ratio to the price tag, was a bit disappointing.
Hubby went for something hearty. Originally, this came with homemade breakfast sausage but upon Joseph's suggestion, he went with bacon steak. BEST DECISION EVER!! What came out was this slab of maple crusted bacon steak which the knife just cuts through easily. This is sweet and savory done perfectly. The crispy potatoes and scrambled egg helped in making this a complete meal. The bread sticks though we could do without; they were cold and hard to bite into.
This is my reward for finishing the 5k; country ham in between two slices of toast with melted gruyere and bechamel sauce. The runny egg yolk brought everything together. Food-Stars Verdict? Pretty good although serving it with croissant would've kick it up a notch.
Stopping at Wildflour was a good choice. Everyone left with smiles on their faces from both the food & the fun. ;)
