When searching for somewhere to eat in Banawe, don't miss out on trying this no-fuss restaurant that serves up Hong Kong street food.
Our first foray to Street Food Eating was a yummy experience so there were high hopes that the same would happen here.
Eat Fresh's Claypot dishes has been getting rave reviews online but unfortunately, we were practicing #NoMeatFridays. After looking through their menu, we decided to have a seafood feast! ;p

What's street food without some balls? ;p At Eat Fresh, you get the option of having it fried & served with curry sauce on the side or have it steamed with your laksa. Since I couldn't wait for the laksa, I had it as fried. Food-Stars Verdict? Tastes like your typical Lobster Balls that you can get frozen from the grocery. The curry sauce definitely had a bit of a spicy kick in it but flavor needed work.
I hate to admit it but it was the price tag that got my attention. Four pieces of Takoyaki's for 60 pesos? I was really curious how Eat Fresh managed to do that... and after the first bite I knew. They give you four fried balls of crab sticks and then tops them off with mayo & sweet soy sauce. Food-Stars Verdict? This is obviously a far cry from the usual Takoyaki Balls served in other places but at 15 pesos a pop? This is one cheap treat.
This is how we like our tofu; lightly breaded with a bit of a crunch on the outside & soft on the inside. Food-Stars Tip? Don't forget to ask for vinegar.
I wasn't expecting much but Eat Fresh surprised me with their Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet. Everything from the sauce (sweet & with just the right amount of asim) to the fish itself (crunchy on the outside & flaky on the inside) was on point. Good job Eat fresh! ;)
And last but not the least, here's their take on Laksa. Food-Stars Verdict? I was looking for the usual flavors of Laksa but it was just spicy more than anything else. Also, the meats & balls inside were just okay.
All in all, our Eat Fresh food trip wasn't bad. We found our favorites (Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet and Salt & Pepper Tofu) which we'll be definitely coming back for.
