Before the Fireworks at Kimono Ken, Tomas Morato Quezon City

New Year dinner with the family was at 'ol reliable, Kimono Ken.

This wasn't our first time to eat here but this would be the first time we're blogging about it.

So here goes.. :P

Kimono Ken, Tomas Morato Ave., Quezon City

Was lucky to snag some seats even if we made reservations just hours before dinner time.

Sushi Lookie!
While waiting for the food to come out, took a picture of their counter/ sushi bar. The chefs were busy at work making those tiny colorful raw goodies.

Chicken Teriyaki Salad (Php 200)
One of our staple order is their Chicken Teriyaki Salad. This is basically fresh veggies mixed with dressing & topped with crispy chicken pieces and fresh mango slices. Refreshingly light, always a nice start.

Tofu Steak (Php 190)
Served in a sizzling plate (without the sizzle), Kimono Ken's version is consistently good. The fried tofu pieces are cooked just right. The minced pork 7 mushroom gives the dish the "body" it needs. FS Recommendation? Spoon in lots of the saucy goodness.

Beef Teriyaki (Php 220)
Ordered 2 of these; that's how much we love their Beef Teriyaki :) Liked the kind of buttery flavor that the beef strips had. Clap clap Kimono Ken, your Beef Teriyaki is still in our favorite list. :P

Gyoza (Php 140)
This is their take on Pan Fried Japanese dumplings. FS Verdict? Just okay. Nothing really special about it.

Chahan
This flavored rice is also one of our "usuals". Same as the dumpling, good but not exactly great.

And for our drinks, we each had Kimono Ken's Special which was pretty much a Four Seasons drink. Absolutely refreshing. :P

Are we coming back? Most definitely. :)
