Korean Fusion at Cafe Monaco, Greenhills San Juan

Greenhills cravings brought us to Cafe Monaco

Cafe Monaco, Greenhills

Had a chance to eat at their Quezon City branch. Wanted to see if the food was as good here as well.

Booth
What I like about Cafe Monaco is they cook the food as you order. They serve it fresh and hot, which is always a good thing.

While you wait, they serve you these appetizers.

Gyu Nikuyakidon (Php 150)
This sliced beef dish was tender & flavorful. Topped with sesame seeds, this is one of my go-to dish.

Beef Stew with Kimchi Rice (Php 145)
The beef stew was a nice surprise. Succulent beef chunks atop the yummy sauce and you're all set. Add the kimchi rice (which was Hubby's favorite) and this dish was a winner.

Spicy Squid (Php 130)
Another dish we tried was their Spicy Squid. FS Verdict? They weren't kidding about the spicy part. The orange sauce gave my tongue quite a lashing. The squid was cooked just right, none of the rubbery texture whatsoever. FS Recommendation? If you can handle the heat and like seafood, then this dish is for you.

Spicy Chicken (Php 130)
For anything spicy count Hubby in. Tried a few spoonfuls but gave up after 5 bites. Cafe Monaco is not stingy with their spices. Sliced chicken tossed with veggies and topped with their secret spicy sauce... this is an adventure by itself. The flavor creeps in the mouth as you chew and stays there as you swallow. FS Verdict? It's a good kind of heat but be sure to have your drink on hand.

Pita Pockets  (Php 80)
For the Pita Pockets, you get to choose between chicken, beef or pork. As always, we went with beef. They cut a pita bread in half and slices open a slit. They place in beef bits with barbecue sauce; spoon in mayo and place in a lettuce leaf.  FS Verdict? Yummy. We couldn't get enough of this one. Hands down my favorite merienda snack. ;)

Fruit Crepe with Ice Cream (Php 100)
For dessert, we wanted Strawberry or Blueberry both fruits were out of stock. Settled for mangoes instead. This definitely exceeded our expectations. The crepe was thin, just the way we like it. Each slice yielded mango slices which showed that Cafe Monacco wasn't stingy with it. The scoop of ice cream was perfectly shaped and the chocolate drizzle was lovely to look at. FS Verdict? Home-y Goodness all in a plate. Is it any surprise that we rate this as a Good Eat? :p

Watermelon Shake (Php 65)
To wash everything down, we got their Watermelon Shake

You might be surprised of the quantity of food we ordered. This is actually a culmination of our 3 visits to this place. Yup, this place was that good. :P Definitely worth going back & back & back for. ;)
