Sweet Escape at Magnum Manila Cafe, SM Aura Taguig, Philippines

For our dessert fix, we've always gone to our tried & tested favorite Cafe Breton. But tonight was different. After our Greeka session, our sweet tooth came a-callin'. Driving off to Greenbelt felt like a chore so we decided to stay & explore SM Aura's dessert places.

At the door, they ask if you're getting their "make-your-own-magnum" or getting their a la carte dishes. They clarify that their DIY magnum bar is for take out only. We set that aside for our next visit. We were escorted to our table.

Huge Magnum bar murals adorned the walls. We perused the menu and settled on Magnum's Death by Chocolate

Don't worry, the 15-20 minute wait will be worth it.
Death by Chocolate (Php 250)
The menu reads, "Deep dark chocolate lava cake and chocolate truffle Magnum topped with brownie pieces and chocolate crispearls." Except for the brown-bowl-instead-of-a-cast-iron-skillet, this looks picture perfect doesn't it? ;)

Hubby started pouring the vanilla sauce. FS Advice? You have to eat every spoonful with a bit of the melting Magnum bar. The chocolate truffle worked well with the chocolate brownie on the bottom. The chocolate-covered rice crispies added texture and the cherry on top was a nice touch. Serving is definitely enough for sharing.

Needless to say, Magnum's Death by Chocolate was a hit. Note to self: Get an extra naked bar (Php 50) on the next visit. ;9 Also, their Cookie Dough Skillet deserves a try as well.
