For one who's quite hesitant to eat somewhere new, Hubby surprised me by saying that we'll be having dinner at Gino's Brick Oven Pizza. He whisked me through the streets of Tordesillas to Bautista & even the snail's pace of cars didn't dampen his excitement... not one bit. ;)
We arrived 7:30 on a Friday evening and the place was packed. We were 5th on the waiting list & still we forged on. Waiting time took about 15-20 mins, the same time it took the driver to find a parking space. :s
We were seated in a comfy booth and wait staff immediately gave us menus to browse through. I let Hubby take the reins and couldn't wait to dig into his food choices for the night.
Menu |
Salted Egg (Php 190) |
The fettuccine was firm and cooked al dente. The parmesan cheese balanced the saltiness of the egg quite well. This wasn't as creamy as I expected but the drier texture worked well in this case. The bacon bits though took a back seat; it just brought a crunch factor but no flavor whatsoever.
SMEGG Pizza (Php 420) |
Gino's pizzas are Neapolitan-based, meaning their pizzas have a crusty charred edge & soupy centers. I was about to try a slice (you have to fold it sidewise or else the toppings will fall off) when Hubby stopped me & asked the waiter for the "special sauce".
Chili Honey |
And to wash it all down, we got a pitcher of their fresh Dalandan (Php 170).
Gino's Brick Oven Pizza was a nice surprise. I'm now thinking of letting Hubby choose more of our food trips! ;9
