Family Time at Mann Hann, Z Square Mall, Quezon City, Philippines

Dinner with my side of the family is now becoming a weekly thing. For nights when we plan a massage session after eating, we usually don't venture far from our favorite spa place at Z Square Mall.

This new mall of sorts offers a pretty limited selection of restaurants to choose from. It didn't take long before Mann Hann was the only restaurant left to try.

We were there pretty early, about 5 in the afternoon, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. :x

Since Mommy & the rest of the family were running a bit late, we ordered ahead.

Hakaw (Php 130)
Surprised that Mann Hann's Hakaw only comes in 3's.

Siomai (Php 120)
Their siomai was just okay; nothing special.

Sweet & Sour Pork (Php 295)
We were always on the look out for good Sweet & Sour Pork so we knew we had to try Mann Hann's version. Food-Stars Verdict? Tasty but wasn't as crunchy as we hoped.

By 7pm, everyone arrived.
Here's a shot of our 2nd batch of orders.

Salt & Pepper Tofu (Php 170)
The first thought that came into mind was that the tofu looked like croutons. Lightly breaded and fried 'til crunchy with vinegar on the side; I found the taste interesting. Not bad but not good either.

Kikiam (Php 100)
This was per piece and was quite tasty. Food-Stars Verdict? Simple yet oh so satisfying :)

Pancit Canton (Php 295)
'Coz noodles will always be Shoti's comfort food.

Fried Squid (Php 295)
This was everyone's favorite; the inky grayish sauce that comes with it though was another story. Food-Stars Recommendation? Ask for vinegar instead.

Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet (Php 295)
'Coz we managed to polish off the pork version before everyone arrived, we ordered this for the 2nd batch. Food-Stars Verdict? The fish fillets were cooked just right. Really liked the fact that they were consistently able to serve up the same tasty sweet & sour sauce on both dishes.

Yang Chow Fried Rice (Php 315)
Okay, I've been trying to avoid eating rice but this was just too good to pass up. You can taste the egg, lettuce & ham in every bite. Food-Stars Verdict? Currently in my list of favorite fried rice! ;)

Chinese Style Beef Tenderloin (Php 325)
This is usually served on a sizzling plate but Mann Hann's version wasn't. No worries because the taste more than makes up for it. Food-Stars Verdict? Yummy! :)

Overall, Mann Hann was a nice surprise. Quite a number of dishes were worth coming back for. The service though was disappointing. It takes awhile for the servers to acknowledge you & sometimes even forgets your order. Boo!!!
