** This is actually a late post. **
Our first choice for lunch was 1970 Yakiniku Grill, unfortunately someone mistakenly told us that this was their other branch.
And that's how we came to eat lunch at Shabuyaki.
From the pot to the plates to the glasses, you can see that the utensils followed a theme.

Shabuyaki, Macapagal |
I felt like a balikbayan with this HUGE signage by the door. :)
At 12nn, no one was eating. This was a pretty bad sign for any restaurant. This was a risky undertaking; but the heavy rain outside & growling tummies inside were enough reasons to stay & try. Let's see how Shabuyaki's wares fared...
The dark wood theme continued all throughout the restaurant. There were also booths on the sides for more private eating. We chose the open table seating.
Gold Pot |
Shabu shabu was the perfect antidote to the cold weather. Used to the stainless pots at other restaurants, this golden one was something new.
And the gold continues... |
Beef Set (Php 349) |
Shabuyaki gives you a choice; either you order one of their Shabu Shabu Sets or you pay Php 200 per head. The choice was an easy one.
Lamb (Php 210) |
I ♥♥♥ these. Aesthetically, this was an eye-gasm. The curled red lamb slices were so lovely to look at.
Squid Balls |
Noodles |
Gotten used to David's version, this was a surprise. If not for the lamb, the soup would not have any flavor at all. The soup was too simple for my liking. As for the "balls", both needed work... lots of it.
Would we come back? Maybe.
The food they offer is good... but not great. Enough to satisfy my hunger but not to make me come back for more.
