Three's A Company at Torch, Greenhills

We were supposed to meet at 1pm for a late lunch... what happened was a "lunner" instead (it's a combination of lunch & dinner, sorta like "brunch").  After fetching Jo, we arrived at Torch Greenhills by 3:30pm, all hungry & harassed.

Hmmm... I wonder what that piece of paper is hiding....

Welcome
Bar
Wall Ornaments
Tables all in a row...
Couch
Restaurant by day, bar by night. The cool bamboo dividers were a nice touch. With the plastic tables, chairs & coffee-colored couches, Torch gave off a sorta easy, breezy vibe.

On to the food...

Roasted Pumpkin Soup (Php 149.95)
Spoons Up!
Creamy and thick, Torch's version was a real tummy filler. With generous portions, white spine-like design and bread on the side, this was truly a great start.

Blackened Chicken Alfredo (Php 279.95)

Always liked white sauce better than red sauced pastas. With Chicken Alfredo, you can't go wrong... or can you? I found Torch's version rather plain; there was nothing exciting about this dish. The chicken didn't have any of the Cajun goodness that they promised. Verdict? Disappointing.

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza (Php 369.95)
All sliced up!
This was pizza, Philly Cheese Steak style. Tasty, hot & served on a wooden slab, what more can you ask for? The zigzagged cream cheese & melted mozzarella gave me my much needed cheese overload. But the piece-de-resistance of this "lunner" was...

Salpicao Medallion (479.95)
Angus Goodness!
"Angus Beef wrapped in Bacon, served with garlic parsley rice & sauteed beans..."; you had me at Beef + Bacon ü! Each slice was a piece of tender juicy meat that melts in your mouth with every bite. But what made this dish truly special was the marble tabletop cooking. Kudos Torch, kudos!

Truffle Fries (Php 234.95)
We also had one of their best sellers, Truffle Fries. Huge cuts of potatoes soon came to our table. Honestly I wasn't able to taste the truffle oil, it just tasted like normal fries to me. Cooked til crispy, this was crunch in every bite.

And we washed it all down with glasses of cold Iced Tea

We were 3 happy campers by the end of the meal.
Torch, you were a nice surprise. ü
