Light Lunch at Li Li, Hyatt Hotel and Casino, Manila

** Late post **

Touted as one of the dining gems of Hyatt Hotel, expectations were quite high. Li Li offers a wide array of Chinese cuisine but we were there specifically for their dim sum

As you descend from their marble staircase, you get an eyeful of their interiors.

This silver plated mirror plus the huge couches speaks volumes of what to expect from Li Li. With all these frills, service and the food better be up to par. Arriving earlier than expected, I was able to take pictures with ease.

Even with these many available tables, they squeezed us to this tiny corner of the restaurant. That's after informing them that we were a party of 7 and requesting that we needed the extra leg & arm room. Li Li's explanation? All the other tables were reserved. Highly unlikely but hey, let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

By 12nn we sat and began ordering from their dim sum module that you can see here (front & back view).
Hakaw
Siomai
Of course we piled on our usuals of hakaw and sio mai. Both dishes tasted fresh, no artificial flavor whatsoever. Steamed 'til tender, Li Li definitely got these right.

Steamed Chinese Sausage in Glutimous Roll
First impression? Didn't look that appetizing. Was a bit hesitant to try this out because it looked a bit dry. FS Verdict? Just okay, nothing special.

Baked Barbecue Puff Pastry
This is a plate of YUM! :) My definite favorite among all the dishes we tried out. The pastry is crumbly and crunchy with every bite, just how I like my pastries to be. The barbecue filling is hot and tasty. A double thumbs up in my book! :)

Chicken Feet (Abalone sauce)

The chicken feet was tender & soft. Was not a fan of the sauce though.

Shrimp Roll
Was happy to say that you can taste the shrimps in every bite, they didn't scrimp on the shrimp (rhyming haha). Would've been better without the sprinkled veggies on top.

Roasted Station
For me, this looked like their "appetizer section" wherein they deconstructed the usual cold cuts platter you get from other Chinese restaurants. Selections are as follows: Honey Roasted Spareribs, Soy Chicken, Pig's knuckle, Jellyfish & Barbecued Pork Belly. FS Verdict? Was expecting more actually but this wasn't bad. Everything was well cooked and tasted okay, although the spareribs (as pictured below) were a crowd favorite.

Now that's service with a smile! :p

We were in a rush. Had to be back at Greenbelt for the Wizard of Oz play so we didn't have enough time to try all of the desserts on display. Was able to take pictures of them though. Enjoy! :)

Long Table of Sweets
Chocolate Fountain

Remember the reservation issue? Well, we finished up at 2pm and not even half of the tables were occupied. Tsk tsk. Now Li Li, that's just bad customer service.

SERVICE:- Would've been 4 stars but the reservation issue + unhelpful attitude cost them a star.

TASTE: - Just okay.

VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY: -  Php 1500+ for 2 people
