BI Review: Kitchen's Best Dessert-All-You-Can, The Fort Makati

While checking our email account for updates & messages, we came across a message from Kitchen's Best.

Ohhh... an invitation from our favorite Mango Sansrival place, we felt this review was going to be a breeze.

Arrived a little bit after 3pm, the place was packed. A mix between bloggers & non-bloggers, Kitchen's Best was definitely buzzing with activity.

After getting stickered & stamped, we joined in the fray.

Seeing the loooong table of sugary treats & snacks, we had our work cut out for us.

First up is the croquant, a petite flat sweet. It was brittle-like and had a layer of chocolate in the middle. The "pearl" in the middle was a nice touch. It made this simple dessert look more classy. Liked it a lot.

Carrot Cheesecake
Never liked carrot cake. But with the cutesy carrot topping; who could resist? With baited breath, I had a small bite. Hmmm... so far so good. It reminded Hubby of fruit cakes & I totally agree. FS Verdict? It was surprisingly good. No hint of the carrot flavor which is a hit for me. :)

Next we had Kitchen's Best version of the Frozen Braso. FS Verdict? It was just okay. The butter-y taste was a bit overpowering. Did not make my fav list.

Okay I'll admit, the swirls of the Green Tea Panacotta did it for me. But can you blame me? This was too eye-ppetizing! :p First time to try a green tea dessert. FS Verdict? This was something different. The "beans" inside was a nice surprise.

Continuing with the Panacotta trend, of course I had to get the classic. FS verdict? The chocolate top layer was really good but when mixed together with the other layers? Not so much. Sayang

Peanut Butter Bar
Hubby is a peanut butter fan so we had to try one of this. The crust tasted a lot like "Choc Nut" so I was already hooked. You can just taste the peanut butter in every bite.

Already had this dessert before so I knew this was good. The white, brown & dark chocolate layers were YUM! The bits on top added the crunch factor that made this treat go from good to great. :)

Usually anything mango and I'm sold. Sadly, KB's Mango Royale did not have enough mangoes. It also had too much cream, in my opinion.

Snickers Cheesecake
Snickers and Cheesecake; how can it go wrong... FS verdict? Not a fan. Maybe it's too much of a good thing. The snickers + the cheesecake by itself would've been a bigger hit.

Food for the Gods
KB's version did not have the usual aftertaste we don't particular like. FS Verdict? A definite yay. :)

Nougat
Of all the wrapper goodies we tried, this was a miss.

And now to our favorites...

White Chocolate Macadamia Brittle Cheesecake
Yup, the name can be quite a mouthful but you'll definitely memorize it for future reference. I'm hands down a white chocolate addict so this was already on my to-try list. After the first bite, this cake jumped to my favorite list. The taste was clean & simple, it slides right off the tongue. Light & yummy.... need I say more? Good job Kitchen's Best! Another winner in my book. :p

Peppermint Tea
Funnily, Hubby's favorite was their Peppermint Tea. Refreshing and certainly helped in lowering the sugar overload.

A surprising hit in both of our books. This red wrapper treat was YUM! :)

We were quite full by this time so we had our eyes do the tasting instead. ENJOY! :p

Caramel Walnut
Glutton's Cake
Coffee Toffee Sansrival
Opera

An afternoon of cakes, tarts & other sugary treats. We got to meet one of the owners as we were saying our goodbyes. All smiles & friendly, she even offered us the freshly-made caramel macaroons to try out. :)

Thanks Kitchen's Best, we had fun! :p
