We've been bitten by the steak bug! It was 9:30 in the evening and Outback Steakhouse in Glorietta seemed to be a safe bet. Open 'til the wee hours of 2am, we decided to get our beef fix here.

Outback Steakhouse, Glorietta 4 |
We went upstairs to their non-smoking area. Not much of a crowd. Our server suggested a dish to try out from their new menu. Feeling adventurous, we decided to go with her recommendation.

Complimentary Bread & Butter |
While waiting for our dishes to arrive, we busied ourselves with their bread. I've always been a fan of their "brown mini loaf" so no complaints here ;). They serve this hot with a knife stuck in the middle.

Soup of the Day |
This was their Soup of the Day. It had potatoes & leeks in it. Notice that I didn't even bother remembering the name? Presentation was a bit disappointing. Looked like it came straight from the can; sprigs & bits were added as an afterthought. Tsk tsk. FS verdict? Just okay.

Herb Crusted Prime Rib (Php 1449) |
This came with your choice of 2 side dishes. Potato-lovers that we are, we got Baked Potato & Fries. Requested for the prime rib to be medium-well and I'm happy to report that this was brown on the outside & pink on the inside. FS Verdict? The herb seasoning was a bit flat, nothing special really. The traditional au jus sauce was something new to the tongue; sadly not a fan. FS Recommendation? Ask for their demiglace instead.

Chocolate Thunder From Down Under (Php 315) |
Here's our sweet tooth ending! With two asterisk on its name, this came highly recommended. The pecan brownie was topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream & chocolate shavings; all drizzled with a warm chocolate sauce. A spoonful of this and I was on a chocolate high... the good kind.
Overall, the evening was quite a bust. Loved the dessert but not the steak. Sigh..
