Holiday Dinner 2013 at Tipsy Pig, Capitol Commons

We've been eating out for dinner three times in a row. From Golden Bay Seafood to Gilligan's and now at Tipsy Pig, 'tis the season to be jolly indeed! :)

'Coz it's not enough to just eat like one, you also have to drink like one! :9
Just like this guy right here.. mouth agape, waiting for the bubblies ;p

Oinky's having a blast!
Piggy aside (yup, pun intended), we were excited to see what Tipsy Pig had to offer. While waiting for the others to arrive, Kate, Krystle, Hubby and me ordered appetizers.

The Flaming Wings (Php 295)
Anything wings and we're in! This was aptly named; definitely not for the faint-hearted. The wings were crispy and well-coated. Serving is good for 2-3 people. Nice one Tipsy Pig

Kesong Poutine (Php 320)
Love the play on words. Was expecting lots of kesong puti but what came were itty bitty dollops of them. Not a fan.

The Number 4 (Php 525)
This was the closest they had to Four Cheese Pizza. Served on a wooden chopping board, that's where its novelty begins and ends. :( The pizza was dry and crunchy to the point of being burnt. As for the cheese flavors? Disappointing. Definitely not your best.

By this time, the others had arrived.

The Triple Chop (Php 310)
This order came with a choice of french fries, garlic rice or mashed potatoes. The apple chutney on the side was something new. The grill marks on the pork was a sight to behold. Alas, this was the first major miss of the night. The chops were tough and dry, even after two tries by the kitchen. The mashed potatoes on the other hand was surprisingly good.

Jack & Coke BBQ Ribs (Php 570)
It was a toss up between BBQ Ribs or the Beef Shanks. Ribs won. Serving size was for 1-2 people, smaller than expected. FS Verdict? The ribs easily slides off the bones. The sauce though was nothing special.

Smoked Salmon Pizza (Php 425)
This was better than the first one, but not by much. The salmon was a bit salty. FS Verdict? So-so.

Pulled Pork Jack BBQ Sliders (Php 350)
This was three mini-sized burgers filled with pulled pork, coleslaw and a side of onion rings. The pulled pork was juicy but needed more seasoning. We also ordered another serving of the onion rings (Php 80) to munch on.

Rigatoni (Php 195)
For our pasta choice of the night, this came highly recommended. For us first timers, this looked like a tasty treat. Sadly, this was the other major miss of the night. Even with the 1st mouthful, there was an overpowering taste of burnt food. We asked to have it replaced which should've been the end of it right? Sigh.

What made the situation worse was the assistant manager was NOT helpful in any way; arguing with the customer is never the answer. Oh and having the chef taste the dish & placing it back on our table is also NOT the right thing to do.  That is YUCK to the highest level. Kudos to the efforts your manager Dante did to salvage the situation. He replaced the Rigatoni and offered to make it complementary but we refused & paid for it full price.

It was truly a memorable night... and not in a good way. Sayang Tipsy Pig, some of your wares were worth coming back for pa naman. And again we reiterate, we never accept freebies or comps of any kind. We post our full & real dining experience, may it be good or bad.
