After checking out the newly opened H&M store at SM Megamall Fashion Hall, we were famished. The long lines to our first choice was a bummer so went walking around some more & soon found ourselves in front of this brightly lit Chinese Brasserie.
Chinese with a French twist; definitely something different.
Loved this magazine stand. If you look closely, you'll see that they're all the same.
Inside are articles about the restaurant & its dishes. Flipping through, you'll soon get to the menu section of this newspaper/magazine/menu. Took pictures of the place while waiting for our food to be served.
At the far end of the restaurant, there's this "green wall" of... well greenery. This area fit in nicely with the wooden tables & chairs.
Food arrived quickly.
More savory than sweet; these pork buns were just okay.

Fancy-Shmancy |
French knickknacks adorned the walls.
Food arrived quickly.
Here's what our table looked like minus one pork bun :)
Pork Meatball Congee (Php 148) |
Bicho Bicho |
For that afternoon, we shared a hot bowl of congee with Bicho-Bicho. For light eaters, serving is good for sharing. I liked the fact that the bicho-bicho was more than enough for the bowl; that guaranteed a delicious bit of crunch in every spoonful. Food-Stars Verdict? Tuan Tuan's Pork Meatball Congee definitely warmed our bellies.
Crispy Barbecued Pork Snow Buns (Php 128 for 3 pcs) |
We couldn't leave without trying their version of the all too-famous pork buns. Skin was flaky & a bit on the crisp side.
We would've chalked this up as a nice afternoon spent trying out a new place; sadly it was not the case. Given that they're still in their soft opening stage, Tuan Tuan's service pretty much sucked... big time. Staff were disorganized; we had to ask for the bill 3 times. After handing our credit card, it took another 15 minutes of waiting & several follow-ups before they told us that they only accept cash (even when they had the credit card accepted sign in front). Okay then what was the 15-min wait for??? *taking deep breaths now*
We would've gladly come back for the congee & to try out some of their Halibut best sellers but with this kind of service? We're begging off. Honestly, I'd rather brave the long line downstairs.
