After having our fill at Omakase, our sweet tooth began tingling...
With Amici just a few steps away, how could we resist? :)
Amici, Ayala Triangle Garden |
A little backgrounder: The first time we heard of this place was back in 2010. We ate at their Tomas Morato branch and didn't exactly enjoy their wares; plus their cafeteria-like concept did not sit well with me. What we keep coming back for was their gelato. Not before long, they decided to market their desserts separately from their regular menu. They named the other half of their restaurant Caramia (check out the bright green divider below).
Interior |
The place was brightly lit and even at the lateness of the hour (it was almost 9pm), there were still some people savoring their dishes & deserts.

Gelato Corner |
We headed straight to their dessert area. It was a smorgasbord of colorful and tasty-looking cakes & treats. It's always a plus for me when they give you free taste before purchase. This makes it so much easier to choose which flavors to get. After teaspoons of trying, we decided to get a cup with 2 scoops each.
Mango Hibiscus |
Being a fan of the fruit, you had me at Mango. What I was actually worried about was Hibiscus. As far as I can remember, Hibiscus was a flower. Hmmm... mango + flower? Definitely something different. Verdict? Just okay. Nothing special really. Cute name though, slides off the tongue.
Choco Sans Rival |
This was actually Hubby's choice. Don't worry, it tastes better than it looks. Not really a fan of chocolate so I only had a few spoonfuls. Verdict? Liked the regular Sans Rival better.
One FS warning though, it gets kinda irritating to see that the gelato scoop does not even fill up the cup. Serving size gets smaller & smaller while prices keep getting higher & higher with every visit. It's getting to a point wherein the taste to price ratio is 1:10. :(
