RR Part 2: Caffe Puccini, Global City Taguig

A long overdue RR of Caffe Puccini. This is the 2nd of 3 reviews. To be fair, we will be posting the 3rd & most recent visit soon.

Part One
Part Three

Date: Jan. 24, 2012
Time: 7:30pm

FS Note: Voucher-holders beware, the Puccini staff looks down on people who use coupons. Once you sit down, you'll experience firsthand that the servers are unfriendly & unhelpful. Also, they take their sweet time bringing service water. They made us feel so uncomfortable when they thought that we were only getting the pizza deal. It also took them forever to bring out the bread basket. Tsk tsk.

Lasagna Di Ragu (Php 385)
Being the beef lovers that we are, we took a chance and tried this dish out. Sadly, what came out was this small dish that looked unappetizing. After the first bite, it was enough to conclude that Puccini's version of Beef Lasagna had nothing special to offer. Sigh.

Salmone alla Griglia (Php 595)
We've never had risotto before so we felt that it was time to do so. The pinkish grilled salmon resting on top of the yellow rice risotto, with the green stalks of veggies was definitely eye-gasm on a plate. :) The salmon was grilled perfectly, soft and moist with every bite. This was served hot. Verdict? A somewhat okay dish. Recommendation? Don't forget to squeeze the lemon! :)

Spaghetti Marinara (Php 435)
For the second time around, we ordered this dish. Eating out with red sauce lovers & non-beef eaters leaves no other choice for pasta.  First thing noticeable right away was there were no clams. Serving size pretty much the same and the dish still was nothing special.

Of course, we also had the half-meter Quattro Formaggio Pizza. Sadly instead of the hand-tossed crust we were salivating for before, the pizza this time was burnt and really tough to chew.

Add the fact that all night we had to deal with arrogant and exasperating servers, I couldn't wait for the meal to end. How disappointing.

SERVICE: - Staff should learn basic table manners and the proper way to address customers.

TASTE: - Even their best seller (pizza) was a huge let-down.

VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY: - Food & service was definitely not worth the money.
