RR: Omakase, Ayala Triangle Garden

A late dinner post. This was during the rainy month of March.

It was a toss up between David's or Omakase. Majority voted for Omakase so it was definitely sushi for the night. Amidst the heavy rain and slippery pavements of Ayala Triangle Garden, we managed to arrive at Omakase's doorstep albeit a bit wet.

Softshell Crab Tempura (Php 325)
We were craving for soft shelled crabs. Omakase's version was a so-so dish. The crabs were crunchy & coated evenly although lacking in flavor. Not as appetizing as I expected. A definite pass for me.

Squidward (Php 205)
Okay, the name sold it for me. Who doesn't know Spongebob & Patrick's "nemesis"? With his nasal honking laugh, it was actually quite sad that he should end up on our plate. :(  Anyway enough of that, this dish was a sight to behold. The squid looked fresh and soft. Unfortunately, I'm no fan of freshly sliced squid so I didn't try this out. Everyone else at the table found it yummy though.

To complete the meal, we had our usual orders of Dynamite Roll, Beef Teppan, Beef Rice Bowl and Ebi Tempura (previous Omakase review here).

One major complaint though, beware of one of the servers here. Don't worry, I'll post his name once I get it. He's the slowest, most arrogant & unhelpful staff I had the displeasure to meet. He definitely makes eating here stressful. Major BOO to you!
