Eating at Racks left a bad taste in our mouths so we were on the look out for a new rib shack place. So one fine Saturday afternoon, FIL suggested we try his go-to ribs place.

Was surprised to see that it looked a bit run down and sorely needed a makeover. The al fresco setting was also folded up because funnily, a car was parked in its place instead. But we at FoodStars never back down from an adventure; add the fact that FIL was totally raving about this place.

It was a bit small and cramped. We decided to eat on the second floor thinking that it had more room.... it didn't. The tables & chairs were already touching each other. All I can say is it was pretty evident that the owner really wanted to maximize the space... even to the extent of his customer's discomfort. :(
While waiting for our food to arrive, I glanced around the red walls of RUB. The funny & quirky posters were great conversation starters. ♥♥♥ it. :)
We had 2 orders of Super Duo; that's ribs for two + 2 sides. For the sides, we had Sprice (Spiced Fried Rice). The ribs were cooked perfectly, the meat slides off the bone... and the barbecue sauce was AMAZING! None of the charcoal-ed grill taste, just how barbecued ribs should taste like. The sprice was a perfect complement to the dish. Only gripe was that we finished this all too quickly! :) FoodStars approved!
As impressive as its name was, this was actually disappointing. There was none of the roasted garlic taste that it promised, the potatoes used tasted instant as well. RUB had a definite miss with this one!

And now for sweet stuff. You won't believe the sugar rush you get out of this one! They coat five mini Oreos with dough and fry them 'til crispy. On top of that, they cap this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Sweetness level? 150 percent. Verdict? Every bite is an Oreo mouthful and the cold ice cream really hits the spot. Dieters, stay away! :)
RUB made us fans of their ribs. You'll see us here again soon enough.
FIL's suggestion? GOLD! :)
