As promised, here's our review for Kitchen Knight's bestsellers!
It was 12:45am and we were hungry. Wanted to try something different for a change. After minutes of searching the web, we stumbled upon this restaurant. Open from 6pm-2am only? Sounds perfect for my midnight cravings. All the dishes comes with rice and veggies. They also offer FREE DELIVERY for 3 dishes and up.
Placed my order, waited for 40 mins and voila!
Kitchen Knight |
Couldn't wait to open the plastic bag. While carefully taking out the styros, was disappointed to find out that one of the sauces was dripping into the bag. It made eating it kinda messy. Sigh.
Fish Hoisin |
Wanting to be healthy (haha), we decided to order their Fish Hoisin. I was expecting the sauce to be darker, hoisin being dark brown. The fish was cut into bite-sized chunks and was cooked okay. It had no fishy taste or smell. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to taste the hoisin. Maybe it needed to be simmered longer so that it can absorb the flavor.
Beef Stew |
Enticed by the picture posted on their website, I had to order this one. First impression? Did not look like the picture but the beef was tender & soft. Surprisingly, the carrots and potatoes were soft and well cooked too. As for the taste? It lacked the usual spiciness that stews offer.
Seafood Curry |
The Seafood Curry included cut squid and fish. Was looking for the spicy nutty flavor but was not present.
Verdict? Saying the presentation needs work is a gross understatement. The veggies & rice were scattered all over the styro which makes for an unappetizing sight.
Overall, the dishes were okay although the taste had hints of being home-cooked.
Their tagline goes, "Conquer Hunger". For me, it roughly translated to pampatawid gutom. :(
