Dillinger's on a hot Saturday afternoon seemed like a good idea... until we had to walk dozens of steps with the sun on our backs. Hay... The walkway was scorching hot, especially at 2pm in the afternoon. Was having a major headache even before we reached the place. :( Note to self: Lunch may be a better idea.
Dillinger's, Greenbelt 3 |
The place looked promising. The facade was like an Old English pub complete with the vintage lamps on the brick-like walls.
Bar |
Just like in Bugsy's, Dillinger's also had a bar for those who just want to relax & unwind with a drink or two. Several alcoholic liqueurs were also on display but it was too early for those. Besides, we were here for the food. :)
Chair or booth? |
Called ahead & made reservations. Sadly, it seemed that the staff didn't even take the time to write my info down. Even with 3 tables of 4 were available, the waiter had a hard time giving us a place to sit. Seriously? I'm scared how you handle a full house. Tsk tsk.
Lovely decor |
Finally, we were seated. We proceeded to order. While waiting, managed to take a couple of pictures of the interior. Loved the oak-y office feel of the place. The booth really looked cozy and inviting. The upholstery also was well kept, unlike Bugsy's. Here the upkeep was evident.
Light fixture |
Can you say emo? With the curls & swirls, their light fixtures had an artsy feel to it. Liking it. By this time, our food was being served.
Buffalo Wings Solo (Php 185) |
Being the wing-lovers that we are, we had to order their Buffalo Wings. Honestly? It looked lesser than 6 pieces & smaller than expected. I found the sauce to be lacking the tangy flavor that I love, none of the mouth-tingling taste that I'm accustomed to. At least it was spicy & crunchy. Just because Hubby loved it, I'm giving it an above average rating.
Grilled Pork chops w/ Garlic Rice (Php 185) |
Grilled Pork chops w/ Mashed Potato (Php 185) |
By this time, we were in the middle of digging in our pork chops when the server suddenly pulled away one of our tables. As shown in one of the pictures above, each table setting in the restaurant was for 4 people. They had 2 other available tables for 4 people each yet they decided to pull apart OUR table for a new diner. And that's with no explanation whatsoever. Rude much?
When asked how come they won't let the person sit on the other available tables, they answered with "it's reserved for 3-3:30pm." Time check, it was only 2:30 in the afternoon. Also, with all the food we ordered, how would it all fit in 1 table? Plus, there was also another couple eating beside us, why didn't their table get pulled apart? With no apology whatsoever, the server then began pushing the 1/2 of the reserved table to us. OMG! Then you should've let him sit there in the first place!! It took awhile for me to calm down after that fiasco but can you blame me for getting angry?
Three Cheese Omelette (Php 155) |
And just to prove my point, it was great timing when they served this dish. Our table was already filled with plates so he had to place this on the next table (the "reserved" one). Tsk tsk. Moving on, I opted to get this instead of the mozzarella sticks. I could taste the cheese in every bite. The hash brown was not oily. FS Verdict? A bit plain. Will have the mozzarella next time.
Club House Sandwich (Php 265) |
We shared one slice and had the rest for take out. Sadly, even with all those fillings (roast beef, ham, bacon, scrambled egg, chicken breast & cheese), the sandwich was bland. Disappointing that in context it looked yummy yet no flavors popped. The fries were good though.
In conclusion, I'm giving Dillinger's a chance at redemption (no thumbs down rating yet). We'll be making an RR of this place sometime in the month & hopefully, the service will be better.
