S-S-P-P at Chef d' Angelo, Glorietta 5

In the mood for an all-you-can-eat tummy adventure, we decided to head to our newly discovered food spot in Glorietta 5.

Word to the wise: Best to get there early to avoid the dinner rush.

Chef d' Angelo, Glorietta 5
Theirs is a casual dining restaurant. It's a pay before you eat kind of thing. We head to the cashier and placed our order. For the eat-all-you-can buffet, we were each given a yellow paper bracelet for identification. We also availed their bottomless iced tea (just add 50 pesos).

CAUTION: Don't expect the same treatment with the high-class buffets. Here, everything is self service. And the staff are inattentive, slow and unhelpful

The buffet is laid on a long table and divided into 4 parts:
Soup, Salad, Pizza & Pasta (S-S-P-P).

Soup
First up is the soup. It's placed in black barrel-like container. The soup bowls can be found on the left side, along with the utensils and tissue paper.

Mushroom Soup
The soup was lukewarm, it would be better if it's piping hot. Taste-wise, it was just okay. Just an ordinary mushroom soup. No lumps though, which was good.

Caesar Salad Bar
The lettuce is placed in a stainless container with tongs. You have a choice of olives, carrots, cucumbers,  green jelly and tomatoes to put in your salad. Of course, don't forget about the Caesar dressing and the Parmesan cheese.

I made mine with cucumbers and tomatoes, lots & lots of dressing and loads of Parmesan cheese. The lettuce was not soggy while the dressing was like the ones that can be bought from the supermarket.  Verdict? Typical salad with store bought ingredients.

Now to the good part.
Pizza
Four Cheese up close!
There are 3 pizza flavors, Four Cheese, Hawaiian Classic & Pepperoni. We tried all the flavors and here's our verdict:

Four Cheese Pizza = You won't taste the 4 different types of cheese, it was more like a 2 cheese pizza. This was our favorite.

Pepperoni Pizza =  Too many ingredients and not really a fan of bell peppers so this was a dud for me.

Hawaiian Classic Pizza =  Each slice had 1 pineapple and a few slices of ham.

Verdict? Nothing special really.
Recommendation? Wait for the refills. It's hot and straight from the oven. You can really taste the difference.

Pasta Station

For the pasta noodles, choices are Fettucini and Spaghetti. While for the sauce, it's a choice between Pomodoro (red) and Cream Sauce (white). I tried all the combinations possible.

Spaghetti Noodles + Cream Sauce = I love white sauces so I tried this mix first. Umm... pass. The white sauce taste just like the soup.

Fettucini Noodles + Cream Sauce = a bit better than the first combo, but not great.

Spaghetti Noodles + Pomodoro Sauce = a step up from the first 2 mixes. The pomodoro sauce had the kick that the cream sauce lacked.

Fettucini Noodles + Pomodoro Sauce = Ahhh... just right. This was the best. ♥♥♥

The noodles were cooked just right and the sauces were kept hot. Don't forget the Parmesan Cheese :)

Red Iced Tea
Gulp down their Red Iced Tea for a complete meal.

Here's a photo of our first serving. Notice the small portion? Haha. Nahihiya pa kami nung una :)

In conclusion, we always come back for the food. But this branch's staff is a big turn off. And it gets worse with every visit.

We'll be transferring to Alphaland branch instead.
