Wing-ing It at Wingstop, Wilson St Greenhills

We've always been on a lookout for wings that could qualm our tummy cravings. After driving by this place so many times (on the way to our badminton sessions), we decided to give it a try.

Wingstop, Wilson Greenhills
With their bright colored store frontage, you can't miss it. The posters on the door were enough to whet our appetite.

Much like in fast food restaurants, they have an order counter with colorful menus on display.  You get to choose from 6 flavors of wings, Buffalo Hot, Mexican Chili, Pineapple Twist, Southern Onion, Oriental Teriyaki and Crispy Fried

In line with the yogurt fad, Wingstop also had their own machine for it. Unfortunately, yogurt was no longer in their menu and the machine was not in use. Sayang.

Looking around, I was beginning to see red. The motif was red on red with splotches of brown. We sat down and waited for our orders to arrive.

First up is Carbonara. Thinking that one order of 12 pcs wings would not be enough, I decided to try this one out. First impression? Blah. Presentation-wise, it really needs work. It looked kinda sloppy and unappetizing. Although the noodles looked dry, it tasted okay. The white sauce was really creamy. More cheese would've been better. Verdict? Tasted pretty much home-made.

We ordered our 12 pcs Wingstop Wings in Buffalo Hot flavor. They weren't kidding about the hot part. My tongue was burning with every bite, not for the faint-hearted. It was tangy but the spiciness pretty much overwhelmed all the other flavors. Also, serving size was a bit small.

We also ordered for take out. After driving for about 45 minutes, here's what our wings looked like:

Buffalo Hot flavor

The chicken no longer had it's bright orange color and looked a bit soggy. The spicy factor was a bit toned down as well. The good thing about take out? The chicken size is bigger and the serving is more.

Oriental Teriyaki
Was expecting a barbecue/ teriyaki flavor but couldn't taste any of it. Smelled wonderful though.

Did Wingstop calm our tummy cravings for buffalo wings? Sadly, it didn't.
Will we be coming back? Not any time soon.
